The farm was built in 1700 and was set up in May 1940 as a so-called "aid post" or a wounded nest for the defense area of ​​the 1st company 1st battalion 26th infantry regiment. This unit had been assigned this part of the Maas-Waal Canal to defend in May 1940. Wounded could be transported from this aid post by means of a stretcher or wounded car to an aid station located in the village of Wijchen. An aid station was located approximately 2 kilometers behind the defense line of each regiment.
