Memorial 467th AAA Weapons Battalion

This plaque is attached on casemate "Ruquet" and commemorates the Anti-aircraft Automatic Weapons Battalion, who saw heavy combat on Omaha Beach, on 6 June 1944. The plaque reads: [i]"THIS MARKER COMMEMORATES THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE 467TH ANT-AIRCRAFT ARTILLERY AUTOMATIC WEAPONS BATTALION WHO LANDED ON THE BEACH ON THE MORNING OF JUNE 6, 1944. THE BATTALION SUFFERED HEAVY CASUALTIES IN THE NEUTRALIZATION OF THE ENEMY BUNKERS GUARDING THE BEACH. A SPECIAL RECOGNITION IS MADE TO THOSE WERE KILLED OR WOUNDED DURING THIS AND LATER CAMPAIGNS INTO WESTERN EUROPE. MAY THEIR DEEDS NEVER BE FORGOTTEN, DEDICATED BY THE SURVIVING MEMBERS OF THE BATTALION. JUNE 6, 1944."[/i] [i]"PAX VOBISCUM"[/i]
