This memorial commemorates General Maczek, commander of the First Polish Armoured Division (created in England in 1942) by which Breda was liberated on 29 October 1944. The statue depicts the general in the turret of his Cromwell tank. The plaque on the front reads: Stanislaw Maczek (1892-1994) Lieutenant General of the Polish Armed Forces, Commander of the 1st Polish Armoured Division. His grave is located nearby in the Polish cemetery.
