Second World War Military victim CLABEAU André, soldier 21st Line, Beernem 25 May 1940 Civilian victims HUYGHE Oscar, resistance fighter executed by the Gestapo in Elverdinge on 20 July 1944 DE BACKER Henri, deported and DONDEYNE Joseph, political prisoner. There is a separate plot for civilian victims who died during the May days of 1940 when the Germans invaded Belgium. German bombing raids cost the lives of approximately 150 dead and about 400 wounded.
