On June 15, 1934, at 11 a.m., a parade was held on this square, attended by Adolf Hitler and Mussolini. After the parade, the leaders had a private meeting. That same evening, a manifestation took place on the square. Mussolini gave a speech, while Hitler was one of the 70,000 people present.
