Feldflugplatz Odendorf

Odendorf
Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany

Feldflugplatz Odendorf was built in 1938/1939 and was used by Adolf Hitler to take a plane to Bastogne (17 May 1940), Charleville (24 May 1940) and Brussels (1 June 1940). Hitler returned from Charleville to Odendorf on 2 June 1940. The airfield was also used by Hermann Göring and Joseph Goebbels. The only remnant of the airfield is a Rollbahnbrücke that was used to transport planes into the forest. Eisenhower landed at this airfield in 1945 and was met by Patton.
