The Dilworth Building is an unique building in central Auckland original built to provide education for dis-advantaged boys in 1927. Latterly it was used by the American embassy and during WW2 became the US Army Headquarters. A stone in pavement in front of the building reads: "THE DILWORTH BUILDING Auckland City Council Schedule 'B' This elegant 'stripped classical' building with a Portland stone facing was built between 1926 and 1927 for the Dilworth Trust to provide income for philanthropic work.
