Georg Elser lived here. He was a German furniture maker who opposed National Socialism. On November 8, 1939, he committed a bomb attack on Adolf Hitler and the leading figures of the NSDAP in the Bürgerbräukeller in Munich. Elser was executed with a shot to the neck in the Dachau concentration camp on April 9, 1945.
