The burial chapel of the Gendebien Family at the cemetery of Marbaix-la-Tour contains a plaque in memory of Baron Marc Gendebien, pilot 349th Squadron of the RAF. Flying Officer Marc Gendebien died on 19 November 1944 in the Spitfire LF Mk .IX NH241/GE-D in an attack on a railway bridge in the Amersfoort region (Netherlands). He was buried at the Oud Leusden cemetery in Amersfoort.
