In 2019, a work of art symbolizing the outline of a Sherman tank was unveiled. These tanks played an important role during the heavy battle between the Allies and the Germans when the Over-Betuwe was the front line. Bloody confrontations took place around De Heuvel between the German Tiger tanks and the American Sherman tanks. Thousands of grenades were fired back and forth, which caused many deaths, including among the population.
