Mayor Wijtvliet memorial

Mayor Wijtvliet refused to appoint workers from his municipality to perform work for the German occupier. He was imprisoned for this reason and died after a stay in various concentration camps. He died in Buchenwald at the age of 42 on February 9, 1945.
