The tomb of the Van Tilt family at the church in Holsbeek mentions the names of Jacques, Charles, Louis Van Tilt and Emile, Constant, Cesar Van Tilt, resistance fighters of the Second World War. They were arrested by the Germans on 3 March 1944 and sentenced to death for their acts of resistance. They were executed in Breendonk on 26 April 1944. In July 1945 their bodies were transferred to the family grave in the churchyard in Holsbeek.
