To the left of the crematorium is the so-called ash pit, where the remains of cremated prisoners are dug. The pit is covered with earth on which a lying Christian cross is placed in a lawn and filled with flowers. In stone letters at the top: HONNEUR ET PATRIE at the bottom: OSSA HUMILIATA (ie humiliated bones)
