Belgian War Graves Erembodegem

The cemetery of Erembodegem contains the grave of a resistance fighter who was killed in the concentration camp Brandenburg-Görden. It concerns DE SCHEPPER Gaston, executed by the Germans on 12 September 1943. There is also the grave of a fallen soldier from the WWII. Cesar DE CONSETH was a soldier in the 1st Intendance Corps (supply corps). He was killed in Zarren (borough of Kortemark) on May 28, 1940 op On May 27, a bomb fell in Zarren. The target was the station, but the bomb fell near a cafe. The railway was also bombed. About 6 civilians were killed, in addition to refugees from the interior and soldiers.
