The museum illustrates different aspects of the Second World War in Aarhus such as German propaganda, everyday life during the occupation, the resistance and allied bombings. It has many artefacts, documents and photos on display. The museum is located at the old town hall and police station. The police took over the building around July 1941. After the bombing of Aarhus university, the Gestapo moved into the building and continued to interrogate and torture their prisoners.
