Father Josef Kentenich was the founder of the international Schönstatt movement. He was arrested by the Gestapo for his criticism of National Socialism and stayed here from 18 October 1941. On 11 March 1942 he was transported to the Dachau concentration camp where he stayed until the liberation on 6 April 1945.
