Shipwreck Shōhō

Milne Bay, Papua New Guinea

The Japanese light aircraft carrier Shōhō was sunk by the U.S. Navy on 7 May 1942, during the Battle of the Coral Sea. The attack and sinking resulted in the death of 834 sailors.
