Former Airfield Knokke-Le Zoute (Advanced Landing Ground B-83)

This former airfield was built in 1929. It was attacked by the Luftwaffe in May 1940 and destroyed on orders of the Belgian High Command. The Luftwaffe expanded the airfield with hangars and used as training ground for Flak units. The Allies extended Knokke-Le Zoute with two runways and used it as Advanced Landing Ground B-83 between 1944-1945. May 1940: 6e Escadrille (IIIde Groep Fairey Foxes) 1944-1945: No. 119 Squadron RAF
