Former Execution Range Drobytsky Yar

Between 1941 and 1942, this ravine was scene of the mass execution of about 30,000 persons (mainly local Jews) by the Germans. [b]The execution range today:[/b] A memorial complex for the Holocaust victims is currently standing here. A path leads from a black Jewish menorah to the white main memorial symbolizing a synagogue with the Ten Commandments between its columns; most notably: "Do not murder". Beneath the main memorial is an underground memorial place lighted by candles. The names of 4,300 victims of Drobytsky Yar can be read on the walls here.
