Grave Sasha Filippov

This grave contains the remains of Aleksandr (Sasja) Aleksandrovitsj Filippov, who spied for the Red Army during the battle of Stalingrad. 'Sasja' was caught on 23 December 1942 by the Germans and hanged in Dar Gora at the age of 15. He was posthumous awarded with the Orde of the Red Banner for his courage. The text on the pedestal reads: [i]"Sasja Filippov 26 July 1925 23 December 1942 Komsomol-member Partisan Tortured by the fascists."[/i]
