Kremlin Wall Necropolis

The Kremlin Wall Necropolis (or Mausoleum) was established in November 1917 with the mass burial of 240 Bolshevik victims of the October Revolution on the Red Square. From 1921, funerals at the Kremlin Wall were reserved as the last honor for the notable persons of the Soviet Union. The practice of burying on the Red Square terminated in March 1985. The most notable person buried here, is probably the former dictator of the Soviet Union from 3 April 1933 to 5 March 1953 and supreme commander of the Soviet armed forces during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945); Joseph Stalin. The four times Hero of the Soviet Union and Marshall of the Soviet Union Georgy Zhukov is also buried here.
